The old One Cell In The Sea cover vs. the new one
Which one's your favorite? I've been trying to get the old one, but it's near impossible to find (except on eBay or Alison's site but it's just a tad too expensive for me).

BTW, does anyone know if the cover version below was ever released? I've never seen it in any stores.

I prefer the third cover, although I also haven't seen it in reality so far. It's often used on eBay and other shops as symbol picture. As for the "real" covers, I like the old one more, because on the second one, Ali looks so pale.. Anyway, my absolutly favorite cover is the one next to me on the shelf, with Ali's greetings and autograph on it. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Agreed. Also, I don't like the back of that CD. The picture is just unbelievably blurry. It really bugs me haha.

You are right. I like the old one more, but I have the copy with the new cover. Soon I will get the other one...

RE: The old One Cell In The Sea cover vs. the new one
Well ... because I bought the LP via amazon as an US-import I have the first cover version as digipack...

I don't know if there really is a third cover version because the last one you've posted 'is' the first one, only with Alison's face in detail and I never saw it, even if you take a closer look at the ebay-sellers who're posting the last one and then you check it out, you sometimes see that they're selling the US-cover - which is the first cover ... so I don't know if they're just giving us a closer look at Alison Guests cannot see images in the messages. RE: The old One Cell In The Sea cover vs. the new one
I, personally, like the old one better. I think she looks very simple, but very beautiful in that cover.

Once Upon A Time there was a very old star.
And this very old star shined on a very old tree.
And in this very old tree there lived a very old rat.
And this very old rat sang a very old song.
And this very old song told a very old story of a long time ago before the faeries went away...

RE: The old One Cell In The Sea cover vs. the new one
Unfortunately i haven't really noticed the cover discussion yet, otherwise i would have replied earlier.
Only to clarify (without intending to be exhaustive):

Cover no.1
is a limited edition digipack (even Alison asked me recently in Hamburg if i knew that it's the limited edition version. I replied: yes of course! lol Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see images. )
Besides a simple card sleeve version with the same picture on the front side (but not so accurate print!), this one has also been distributed as the US promo version of One Cell In The Sea.
If you order this digipack version via 2nd hand dealers on Ebay, you often get it with a razor-thin little adhesive label on the CD saying "Only for promotional use!"

Cover no.2 (Alison in the yellow dress)
is the official version of the CD in the US as well as in Europe and Japan.
For Europe there exists also a simple card sleeve version with the same picture on the cover for promotion purposes.

Cover no.3 / sample picture
doesn't really exist. As Laganlove said, it's only a detail picture of the first cover and is often used by dealers as a sample picture for the One Cell In The Sea CD.
Once i asked a dealer, how the cover is looking in real. And he described it like cover no.2!!!
ATTENTION: Since cover no.2 is the official version of OCITS, even the third picture is often shown in offers instead of the different real cover picture Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see images.

Last but not least also to mention the cover of the vinyl double LP. It exists only with the official cover no.2, as far as i know.

By the way, my favorite is also cover picture no1. I would like to have it as a plastic case version with a booklet, but it doesn't seem to exist. I asked some dealers, who showed the cover no.1, and i bought some of them for me and as a present for friends, but it was always the digipack version.

RE: The old One Cell In The Sea cover vs. the new one
I love digipaks. They're so durable and I don't have to worry as much about breaking the case. So I just recieved the 1st version in the mail. When I first heard AFF (in 2007), I got OCITS on itunes, and it wasn't until later, after I'd heard the rest of the album to see if I'd liked it, that I got the physical album. So I got the 2nd cover version. So I just bought the 1st cover digipak, and I love it haha. It's so beautiful, and I love the artwork.

So... the opinion is even stronger now. 1st version, definitely!!
